How we earn from your list

Short version: when you click a product link on your list and buy something, the retailer pays us a small percentage. It costs you nothing extra. We choose products based on how well they fit your answers first, not on which one pays us more.

Which retailers pay us

We're part of these affiliate programs:

• Amazon Associates UK
• Awin — for John Lewis, Marks & Spencer, Boots, Mamas & Papas, and Baby Mori
• Webgains — for JoJo Maman Bébé

Commission rates differ by retailer and category. As a rough range: 3–7% of the purchase price, paid to us after the retailer confirms the sale. Rates change occasionally.

How we choose which product to show

For every item on your list, we have a small set of possible products from the affiliate programs above. The generator picks one to show you as the "Suggested" option. Here's the rule, exactly as it's coded:

1. Rank by fit first. Each candidate product gets a fit score based on your answers (style preference, sex, climate zone, brand tier). Higher score = better fit.
2. Break ties by commission. If two products are within a small margin of each other on fit score (roughly "equally good"), we pick the one with the higher commission rate.
3. Never surface a worse-fit product for margin. If one option is clearly a better fit, that's the one we show, regardless of what it pays.

Whenever a margin-tiebreak actually decides the pick, we log that fact internally. It helps us tune the balance over time with real data.

What data affiliate networks see about you

When you click a product link, the affiliate network sets a cookie in your browser to attribute a possible purchase back to us. The specifics depend on the network:

• Amazon: 24-hour attribution window, longer if you add the item to your cart within that window.
• Awin and Webgains: typically 30-day attribution window.

We don't hand these networks your personal data. They see the click (which affiliate ID it came from) and the eventual purchase (if you make one). Your name, email, list content — none of that leaves our side.

Where affiliate links appear

On your generated list page, next to each item, you may see a "Suggested" strip with a specific product. That's an affiliate link. It opens in a new tab and takes you straight to the retailer.

Why this matters

Affiliate revenue is how the site pays for itself. It lets us keep the core list free (no paywall to see your list) and lets us spend time actually maintaining the catalog rather than chasing a different business model. We think it's the honest arrangement to make explicit — hence this page.
